Joseph received his B.S. in Chemistry in 2019 from the University of California, Los Angeles while conducting undergraduate research in the lab of Professor Paula L. Diaconescu. In 2025, he graduated with his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine working with Professor William J. Evans. There, he studied the synthesis and reactivity of rare-earth metal and actinide complexes in low oxidation states.

Haruko received her BA in Chemistry from Connecticut College in 2020 where she worked with Prof. Stanton Ching on electrochemical analyses of manganese oxides for supercapacitor applications. In 2025, she graduated with a PhD in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology, advised by Prof. Henry La Pierre,where she worked on the stabilization of reactive fragments at high valent f-element centers.
